ELECTRICAL TERMINAL STABILIZER
DRIVE
October 2, 2024
An electrical connector assembly (10) includes an electrical terminal (20) that is mounted to a support structure. The assembly also includes a stabilizer (22) that has a slot (26) that receives a free end (27) of the electrical terminal (20). The assembly further includes a first spring (32) that operatively supports the stabilizer (22) relative to support structure. The first spring (32) biases the stabilizer (22) away from the support structure to a pre-staged position. The first spring (32) is configured to flex from the pre-staged position to an assembled connector position in which more of the free end (27) protrudes through the slot (26) than in the pre-staged position. The first spring (32) extends from each of opposing sides of a first post (34) which is arranged at a first lateral edge (30) of the stabilizer (22). A second post (34) and a second spring (32) are arranged at a second lateral edge (30) of the stabilizer (22) opposite the first lateral edge (30).
