A vehicular apparatus (VA; VA') to produce compressed air includes an internal combustion engine (ICE; ICE'), a pneumatic supply circuit (BC) to supply a braking device (BD), a gas receiver device (T, IM, GL) distinct from the pneumatic supply circuit (BC), compression means (TC, CY') to compress air, a compressor (C), a first supply line (L1), which connects an outlet of the compressor (C) to the pneumatic supply circuit (BC), supply means (L2, LU) to draw compressed air downstream of the compression means (TC, CY') and convey said compressed air to an inlet of the compressor (C), and a third supply line (L3), which connects the outlet of the compressor (C) to the gas receiver device (T, IM, GL) .
