The shear belt package (200) comprises a first belt layer (201) for extending circumferentially around the tire (100), a second belt layer (202) for extending circumferentially around the tire (100) and a shear band structure (210) radially interposed between the first belt layer (201) and the second belt layer (202). The shear band structure (210) includes a first reinforcing ply (211) radially adjacent the first belt layer (201), a third reinforcing ply (213) radially adjacent the second belt layer (202) and a second reinforcing ply (212) radially interposed between the first reinforcing ply (211) and the second reinforcing ply (212).
