CONTAINER MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES

A mounting system (10) for securing a container (16) to a bed (18) of a vehicle includes a mounting bracket (12) that is adjustable in its length dimension. A first connection joint is for attaching the first end portion (12a) to a sidewall (18a) of the bed (18). A second end portion (24) has at least one foot portion (24e, 24f) for engaging a floor surface (18b) of the bed (18). A second connection joint is for attaching a central portion of the mounting bracket (12) to the container (16). The bracket is adjustable to a length dimension sufficient to engage the foot portion (24e, 24f) of the bracket to the bottom surface (18b) of the bed (18), while the bracket is attached to the side wall (18a) of the bed (18) through the first connection joint.
