The valve system (6) comprises a valve body (10) comprising an elastomeric material and a connection element (8). The connection element (8) comprises first engaging means (14) with which the connection element (8) is detachably attachable to an electronic module (12) of the tyre parameter monitoring system (2), second engaging means (18) with which the connection element (8) is detachably attachable to the valve body (10), and a mounting section (22) adapted to be detachably attached to a hole (24) in a wheel rim (4).
