BICYCLE BATTERY STORAGE SYSTEM

A bicycle battery system includes a battery tray (210) that mounts within a cavity formed by an opening (405) in a bicycle tube (200). The battery tray includes a latch mechanism (425), a first base portion (415) that mounts to the latch mechanism, and a second base portion (420) that mounts to the first base portion. The first base portion includes a cup (230) that is sized to mate with an interior of the bicycle tube. The system also includes a battery (220) that is sized to fit within the battery tray. A first end of the battery includes a protrusion (225) that is sized to fit within the cup of the first base portion, and a second end of the battery includes a secondary latch (250) to secure the second end to the battery tray. The system further includes a battery cover plate (215) mounted to the battery.
