The present invention relates to a method, an apparatus, and a power supply system for determining a state of a generator in a power supply system, the method comprising: monitoring whether the generator is in a standstill state; if the monitoring result is yes, monitoring whether an excitation system is switched on, the excitation system being used for supplying power to the generator; and if it is monitored that the excitation system is switched on, sending a prompt message, the prompt message being used for indicating that the excitation system is switched on.
