An aircraft including a system and a method for receiving (510), via a fuel switch (260, 450), a first control signal indicative of an off position on a fuel switch (260, 450), determining (520) a throttle (270, 410) resolver angle of a throttle (270, 410) controller in response to the first control signal, comparing (530) the throttle (270, 410) resolver angle to a threshold throttle (270, 410) angle, and generating (540) a pilot warning in response to the first control signal and the throttle (270, 410) resolver angle exceeding the threshold throttle (270, 410) angle.
