The present invention provides a vehicle rearward warning system that includes a detection unit detecting a location of a target vehicle, an estimation unit estimating a traveling direction of the target vehicle based on the location of the target vehicle detected by the detection unit, and a setting unit setting a collision warning range in respect of a subject vehicle and changing the collision warning range based on the traveling direction of the target vehicle estimated by the estimation unit.
