A battery management apparatus according to an embodiment disclosed herein includes an obtaining unit configured to obtain a voltage of a battery cell and a controller configured to calculate a battery profile related to a capacity and the voltage of the battery cell, based on the voltage of the battery cell, identify degradation states of a positive electrode and a negative electrode of the battery cell, by using the battery profile, and manage a charging profile used for charging of the battery cell based on the degradation states of the positive electrode and the negative electrode.
