The hybrid drive system (1000) includes: an electric drive powertrain (200) for driving one of a front axle and a rear axle of the vehicle; and a hybrid powertrain (100) for driving the other of the front axle and the rear axle of the vehicle. The hybrid powertrain (100) and the electric drive powertrain (200) are configured to: control the hybrid powertrain (100) to drive the vehicle, and/or control the electric drive powertrain (200) to drive the vehicle based on a target gear position, where the target gear position includes a first gear position and a second gear position.
