The electrode plate is a positive electrode plate (4) for a secondary battery, the positive electrode plate (4) having a metallic positive electrode core body (4a) and a positive electrode active material layer (4b) formed on both surfaces of the positive electrode core body (4a), wherein the positive electrode plate (4) has a first edge (4A) and a positive electrode tab (40) protruding from the first edge (4a), and a fluorine-containing coating (4y) is formed on the end surface of the positive electrode core body (4a) at the first edge (4A) of the positive electrode plate (4). The secondary battery has the positive electrode plate (4) and a negative electrode plate (5).
