A cargo restraining system (2) for a vehicle (1) comprising an extended flexible structure (3) movably connected to a positioning arrangement (4). The flexible structure (3) is adapted for holding cargo (C) arranged on a cargo floor (1b) of a vehicle cargo compartment (1a) in position in relation to the cargo floor (1b), and the flexible structure (3) is sized to cover at least a part of the cargo floor (1b). The positioning arrangement (4) is adapted for enabling movement of the flexible structure (3) between a storage position (P) and a load securing position (P), where in the storage position (P) the flexible structure (3) is adapted to be positioned on a first height (H1) from the cargo floor (1b), and where in the load securing position (P) the flexible structure (3) is adapted to be positioned on a second height (H2) from the cargo floor (1b). The first height (H1) is different from the second height (H2).
