Source
A first mobile device (102) for sharing energy with a second mobile device (101) is provided comprising: a battery (132); a rectifier (122); an inductive coil (182); a charge sensor unit (142) configured to identify a charge state of the battery (132) of the first mobile device (102); a user interface unit (152) configured to receive an input about whether the first mobile device (102) is set to a source mode or a load mode, wherein in the source mode the first mobile device (102) operates to supply energy to the second mobile device (101), and wherein in the load mode the first mobile device (102) operates to receive energy from an external device; and an inverter circuit (162). The inverter circuit (162) is configured to, when the source mode is selected and while the identified charge state of the battery (132) is greater than or equal to a predefined level convert a thereto provided first direct current DC voltage provided from the battery (132) of the first mobile device (102) to a first alternating current AC voltage, and supply the first AC voltage such that energy is transferred based on the first AC voltage to the second mobile device (101) through the inductive coil (182). The user interface unit (152) is configured to output information on whether the first mobile device (102) is operable in the source mode to supply the energy to the second mobile device (101) based on the identified charge state of the battery (132) of the first mobile device (102). When the load mode is selected, the rectifier (122) is configured to convert a thereto provided second AC voltage to a second DC voltage, and to provide the second DC voltage to the battery (132).
