DRIVE
September 25, 2024
A hybrid propulsion system (50) for an aircraft (10) can include a propulsor assembly (56) having at least one propulsor (242) and a power generation system (50). The power generation system (50) can include a first power assembly (52), a second power assembly (52), a first electric machine (62), and a second electric machine (66). The first power assembly (52) can be drivingly coupled to the first electric machine (62) to produce a first amount of electric power. The second power assembly (52) can be drivingly coupled to the second electric machine (66) to produce a second amount of electric power. A controller (150) can be operably coupled to the first power assembly (52), the first electric machine (62), or both and to the second power assembly (52), the second power assembly (52), or both. The controller (150) can be configured to combine at least a portion of the first and second amount of power for electric transfer to the propulsor assembly (56).
