The power supply unit (100) includes an internal power supply (BAT) configured to hold power supplied to a heater (HT) configured to heat an aerosol source, a first connector (23) connectable to an external device (CG) and including a first communication terminal (504), a controller (14) configured to control power supply from the internal power supply (BAT) to the heater (HT) and including a second communication terminal (551), a first communication path between the first communication terminal (504) of the first connector (23) and the second communication terminal (551) of the controller (14), and a switch unit (20) positioned on the first communication path and configured to set the first communication path to a conductive state or a disconnected state.
