A brake assembly (10) having a sensor assembly (50) that is received inside a shaft (210) of a wear adjuster mechanism (40). The wear adjuster mechanism is at least partially received inside a piston (38) that is rotatable about the axis and is at least partially received in a tappet (36). The sensor provides a signal that is indicative of rotation of the shaft.
