GAS GENERATOR SPEED LIMIT AND POWER RECOVERY

An exemplary aircraft (100) includes a turbine engine (102, 202) having a gas generator spool (204) and a power spool (206), the power spool operational to drive a rotor (107, 216), a first generator (218) coupled to the gas generator spool (204), and a controller (110) operable to increase a load on the gas generator spool (204) when the gas generator spool is on a speed limit thereby increasing a speed limit margin in order to increase power available from the turbine engine (102, 202).
