The vehicle of this teaching controls an engine and the power generation electric motor such that electric power supplied to the propulsive electric motor is increased in response to an acceleration instruction, and when the propulsion system is driven only by the power outputted from the propulsive electric motor, the rotation speed of the engine is increased by reducing the load torque of the power generation electric motor at least according to the amount of remaining charge of a battery before the acceleration instruction such that a target power according to the acceleration instruction will be outputted, by the acceleration instruction as a trigger, from the propulsive electric motor driven by the electric power supplied from the battery and/or the power generation electric motor regardless of the amount of remaining charge of the battery.",
