A METHOD FOR OPENING THE RESPIRATORY TRACT AFTER A VEHICLE CRASH

A computer-implemented method for moving an occupant (18) of a vehicle seat (14) to open airway position after a vehicle crash event. The vehicle seat (18) having a seat cushion (14a), a backrest (14b) and a headrest (14c). The method comprises detecting occurrence of a vehicle crash event, and moving at least a portion of the backrest (14b) and/or headrest (14c) backwards and pulling an occupant (18) of the vehicle seat backwards towards the backrest (14b) by powered retraction of a seat belt (20) of the occupant (18) by means of a seat belt retractor (27).
