The microcontroller commands the switching device to: begin sourcing power solely from the alternative power source upon detection of a voltage decrease, begin sourcing power solely from the removable battery upon detection of a voltage increase where a valid charge state exists, and continue sourcing power solely from the alternative power source upon detection of the voltage increase where no valid charge state exists.",
