SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION OF DRIVE OVER READER PRESSURE MEASUREMENT

A system (10) and a a method for compensating a drive over reader tire pressure measurement is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: providing a drive over reader (26) including a sensor array (30); determining a pressure indication (36A) of each tire (12) in a group of tires with the drive over reader (26); providing a recommended cold pressure (38) for the tires (12); determining an adjusted recommended pressure (42) for the tires (12) from the pressure indication (36A) and the recommended cold pressure (38), the adjusted recommended pressure (42) accounting for temperature effects on the tires (12); setting an adjusted low pressure threshold (44) at a predetermined level below the adjusted recommended pressure (42); and generating a notice with the drive over reader (26) for each tire (12) that includes an adjusted recommended pressure (42) below the adjusted low pressure threshold (44).
