CONTROL SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD OF A SERIES HYBRID VEHICLE

A control system for a series hybrid vehicle has a user command assembly (17) for providing an acceleration command; a speed sensor (20); an internal combustion engine (3), which has no transmission/connection mechanisms to the wheels (9) of the series hybrid vehicle (2); an electric generator (4), which is mechanically operated by the internal combustion engine (3) so as to provide a generated electrical power (PG); at least one electric motor (10) for driving one or more wheels (9) of the series hybrid vehicle (2); and a vehicle control unit (5), which is configured to control the torque of the internal combustion engine (3) and the electrical traction power (PT) as a function of the actuation of the user command assembly (17) and of the detected running speed so as to generate driving feelings that are typical of an internal combustion engine vehicle provided with a mechanical transmission having a plurality of gears.
