A CHARGER ASSEMBLY

A charging cable (40) comprises a first connector (41) configured for connection to an electric vehicle (EV) and a second connector (42), and the first and second connectors (41, 42) are interconnectable to form a rigid support element for the charging cable (40). The first and second connectors (41, 42) comprise respective cable control members (43; 43') that form a support region for at least a portion of the charging cable (40). A charger assembly for charging an electric vehicle (EV) comprises a portable charging control unit (20) having a first cable (30) configured for connection to a power grid or other power source, and a socket (23) configured for connection to a second cable (40). A second cable (40) is configured for releasable connection to the socket (23) and for charging an EV. The second cable may be a Mode 3 charging cable with Type 2 connectors.
