In a pneumatic tire, a buttress has formed therein a straight region with a flat surface, and a projection which is located adjacent to the straight region in a radially inward direction of the tire and which is formed in an annular shape along a tire circumferential direction. The length (d+d) in a tire radial direction from an edge of the straight region in a radially outward direction of the tire to a tip of the projection is greater than the length in the tire radial direction from a ground contact edge of the tread to the edge of the straight region in the radially outward direction of the tire. The height of the projection is greater than or equal to 0.5 mm and less than or equal to 1.0 mm.
