A charging system (10) for charging a battery (BAT) mounted on a vehicle (V) is provided with: an inverter (11) for converting electric power supplied from a commercial power supply (PS); a flywheel (12) for storing kinetic energy; and a motor generator (13) electrically connected to the inverter (11) and mechanically connected to the flywheel (12).
