DRIVE

If the occupant moves from the regular seating position, the hood-type airbag may come into contact with the head of the occupant and stop during expansion and deployment, preventing the airbag from expanding and deploying. [0002] The airbag device 11 is provided with an airbag 12 and an inflator 13 that supplies gas to the airbag 12. In the expanded and deployed state of the airbag 12, the airbag 12 has a head protecting chamber 12cb that covers the head of the occupant 2 from the crown of the head to the side of the head, and a pair of side protecting chambers 12ca that are arranged on the left and right sides of said head protecting chamber 12cb and cover the sides of the occupant 2. The airbag device 11 is provided with a slip cloth 19, which is a cloth that deploys in a manner covering the head 2a of the occupant 2 upon expansion and deployment of the airbag 12, positioned on the side opposite of the head 2a of the occupant 2 relative to the head protecting chamber 12cb, having a smaller dynamic coefficient of friction than the outer surface of the airbag 12.
