The preparation method of the composite material includes the steps of: step 1. growing graphene on a surface of a nickel foam substrate by using a chemical vapor deposition method to obtain a graphene nickel foam material; and step 2. preparing neodymium elements on a graphene surface of the graphene nickel foam material to obtain the neodymium-graphene composite material. According to the preparation method of the present invention, nickel foam is used as the substrate, and can act as a skeleton when being used as the substrate; and meanwhile, neodymium in neodymium fluoride is a rare earth element, the electrochemical catalytic efficiency of hydrogen evolution reaction, oxygen evolution reaction, oxygen reduction reaction and the like can be significantly improved by combining the neodymium with an electrocatalyst.",
