An apparatus for stabilizing takeoff and landing of a vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (290), the apparatus comprising:at least one vertically-oriented support element (291) extending from a vertically-oriented support element first end (291a) to a vertically-oriented support element second end (291b), said at least one vertically-oriented support element further comprising at least one first cooperating stabilizer element located proximate to the vertically-oriented support element second end (291b) and comprising at least one of: a male attachment portion (62a, 62b, 62c, 62d, 62e), and a female attachment portion (52a, 52b, 52c, 52d, 52e, 52f);an enclosure (282) comprising an enclosure inner surface (282c), said enclosure dimensioned to substantially surround the at least one vertically-oriented support element; andan electric charging element (286) in communication with a power supply (288), and comprising at least one charging element charging surface (286a) in communication with at least one of: a charging base (286a), the at least one vertically-oriented support element (291), and the enclosure inner surface (282c).
