A hoist (202) for lifting at least a portion of a gas engine assembly (100) includes a support member (204) including an upper portion (314), a lower portion (318), and a connecting portion (316) extending therebetween. The hoist (202) also includes an elongate member (206) coupled to the lower portion (318) of the support member (204) and extending substantially orthogonally to the lower portion (318), and at least one bracket (402) slidably engaged with the elongate member (206) and axially translatable along a length of the elongate member (206). In addition, the hoist (202) includes a plurality of linkage members (414 and 416) coupled to the at least one bracket (402), where each linkage member (414 and 416) of the plurality of linkage members (414 and 416) is configured to attach to at least a portion of the gas engine assembly (100).
