FLAT BED TRAILER

According to the present invention there is provided a flat bed trailer for transporting an item of heavy machinery having a movable arm attached to a bucket or a breaker, the flat bed trailer comprising: a floor; a plurality of wheels for travel over roads; a coupling mechanism for coupling the trailer to a towing vehicle; at least two restraining bars each having a restraining position in which the respective restraining bar is disposed substantially laterally across the trailer to restrain the item of heavy machinery when positioned on the flat bed trailer; a first bar retainer for retaining one of the restraining bars in its restraining position; and a second bar retainer for releasably retaining the other restraining bar in its restraining position; and an arm restraint assembly comprising a pivotable restraining member for restraining the movable arm of the item of heavy machinery.
