BATTERY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

Disclosed is a battery including: a battery can including a cylinder portion including an opening edge portion at one end portion thereof and a bottom portion closing the other end portion of the cylinder portion; an electrode body housed in the cylinder portion; and a sealing member fixed to the cylinder portion to seal an opening of an opening edge portion. The sealing member includes a lid portion covering the opening of the opening edge portion. A first engagement portion is formed in the end portion of the cylinder portion on the opening edge portion side, and a second engagement portion is formed in an end portion of the lid portion on an outer circumferential side. A first surface of the first engagement portion and a second surface of the second engagement portion are bonded, with the first surface and the second surface overlapping each other.
