An assembly configured to co-operate with an adjustment tool for adjusting a length of a steering rod in a steering gear assembly of a vehicle. The assembly comprising a connector element and a steering rod. The steering rod comprises an adjustment part which is rotatable around a longitudinal steering rod axis. The connector element comprises a body and is configured to be clenched around the adjustment part of the steering rod. The connector element has a circumferential outer wall comprising a plurality of substantially planar contact surfaces which are angled with respect to each other and are configured to engage the adjustment tool such that the adjustment tool can apply a moment or torque to the connector element.
