A vulcanizable rubber composition is disclosed comprising, based on 100 parts by weight of elastomer (phr): from 40 to 80 phr of a first solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (s-SBR) with (i) a bound styrene content in a range of from 5 to 50 percent by weight, a vinyl 1,2 content in a range of from 10 to 40 percent by weight based on the rubber weight, and a Tg in a range of from -85°C to -20°C; and/or (ii) with the first polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber being extended with less than 37.5 phr of oil; from 30 to 70 phr of a second and different solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (s-SBR) with (i) a bound styrene content in a range of from 15 to 45 percent by weight, a vinyl 1,2 content in a range of from 20 to 60 percent by weight and a Tg in a range of from -30°C to -5°C; and/or (ii) with the second polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber being extended with less than 37.5 phr of oil; from 5 to 80 phr of a resin, the resin having a Tg in a range of from -100°C to +30°C; and from 0 to 60 phr of a rubber processing oil. A total amount of resins and oils is less than 100 phr. Also, a tire comprising such a rubber composition is disclosed.
