METHOD, SYSTEM, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR PROVIDING DATA INDICATIVE OF ROUTE OPTIONS TO A USER

A method and system for providing data indicative of route options to a user travelling through a navigable network. Alternative routes are generated at decision points along a main route. The main route is displayed in a schematic representation comprising an icon indicative of a current position of the user along the main route, an icon indicative of the position of the decision point along the main route, and a selectable icon indicative of the existence of the at least one generated alternative route. When the selectable icon is selected, a map is displayed that shows the main route and the alternative route. The user may select either of the main route or the alternative route on the map display.
