SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING LOW PRESSURE RECOUP AIR IN GAS TURBINE ENGINE

DRIVE January 29, 2025
Source
Control of low pressure recoup air in a gas turbine engine (12) disposed in a gas turbine enclosure (14) with low pressure recoup air piping (24) coupled to a gas turbine combustion exhaust (18) and gas turbine engine enclosure (14) is disclosed. A first valve (V1) of the piping (24) controls a flow of the recoup air to the gas turbine combustion exhaust (18). A second valve (V2) of the piping (24) diverts the recoup air to the enclosure for eventual flow to the air intake. A controller (64) controls the flow of the recoup air from the piping (24) to the exhaust (18) and/or the enclosure (14) as a function of ambient and air intake temperature measurements, and a predetermined temperature requirement having an ambient temperature constraint and an air intake temperature differential constraint.
