A filter molded article for a gas generator includes: a peripheral wall portion that is formed of a winding body of a filter wire and has a cylindrical hollow shape, the filter wire including a groove portion that is formed in one place in a circumferential direction of a metal wire having a circular or elliptical transverse cross-section and extends along an extending direction of the metal wire, and including a circumferential surface formed in a portion other than the groove portion; a gas inflow surface formed of one surface from among an inner peripheral surface and an outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion, and through which gas flows into the peripheral wall portion; and a gas outflow surface formed of the other surface from among the inner peripheral surface and the outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion, and through which gas flows from the peripheral wall portion. The groove portion is oriented opening toward the gas inflow surface in the peripheral wall portion.
