  "textContent": "The present invention provides a wheel bearing device for use in a long-distance transport vehicle with a heavy body weight. The wheel bearing device reduces the occurrence of, for example, abnormal heat generation caused by metallic contact and has better anti-seizing properties. A large-diameter-side end face 41 of a tapered roller 4 is formed on a convex spherical surface. A large flange part 32 that has a guideway 32a with which the large-diameter-side end face 41 is in point contact is integrally formed on an inner raceway surface 31. The large flange part 32 has: a chamfered part 32c that is continuous with an outside surface 32b of the large flange part 32; and a smoothed part 32d that is formed in the shape of an arc with a radius of curvature r2 in cross-sectional view, that is continuous with the chamfered part 32c on one side, and that is continuous with the guideway 32a on the other side. A large flange part-side recess 34 that is continuous with the guideway 32a is formed at the base of the large flange part 32. A circular tapered roller-side recess 43 is formed on the large-diameter-side end face 41 of the tapered roller 4 so as to be coaxial with the large-diameter-side end face 41. The large-diameter-side end face 41 has a relief amount of 15 µm or more when seen from a point P of contact between the large-diameter-side end face 41 and the guideway 32a.",
