The battery cell of the embodiments includes an electrode assembly, a housing, a pressure relief mechanism and a cover assembly. The housing is provided with an accommodating space for accommodating the electrode assembly, where the housing includes a first side plate located on a side in a first direction; the pressure relief mechanism is disposed on the first side plate; and the cover assembly is configured for sealing the housing, where an inner surface of the first side plate of the housing is provided with a first flow channel extending along the inner surface, and the first flow channel is configured to guide a gas in the accommodating space to the pressure relief mechanism so that the pressure relief mechanism is actuated when a pressure reaches a threshold, and relieve the pressure. And communicates with the accommodating space, and the first edge flow channel and the pressure relief mechanism are in communication through a first intermediate flow channel.
