"textContent": "A method for controlling a series hybrid vehicle (1), in which: a battery (5) is charged with electric power generated by an electric power generation motor (3), which is driven by motive power from an internal combustion engine (2), and with electric power regenerated by a drive motor (4), the electric power of the battery (5) being used in driving of drive wheels (6) by the drive motor (4); generation of electric power by the internal combustion engine (2) is started if a vehicle requested output exceeds an electric power generation start threshold value, and generation of electric power by the internal combustion engine (2) is stopped if the vehicle requested output falls below an electric power generation stop threshold value; and a deceleration rate produced through regeneration of the drive motor (3) is greater in a second advancement shift position than in a first advancement shift position. The electric power generation start threshold value and/or the electric power generation stop threshold value in a case where the second advancement shift position has been selected is greater than the respective electric power generation start threshold value or electric power generation stop threshold value in a case where the first advancement shift position has been selected.",
