It is an object of the present invention to provide a rubber composition for tire that can suppress early abrasion and improve abrasion resistance under the condition that a large force is applied to a tire for a long time and a tire comprising a tread composed of the rubber composition for tire. Provided is a rubber composition for tire comprising a rubber component that comprises an isoprene-based rubber and a styrene-butadiene rubber, silica whose content based on 100 parts by mass of the rubber component is greater than 50 parts by mass, and a plasticizing agent that comprises at least one of a resin and a liquid rubber, wherein, when an amount (% by mass) of the isoprene-based rubber in the rubber component is defined as A, an amount (% by mass) of the styrene-butadiene rubber in the rubber component is defined as B, an amount (part by mass) of the silica based on 100 parts by mass of the rubber component is defined as C, an amount (part by mass) of the resin and the liquid rubber based on 100 parts by mass of the rubber component is defined as D, and an amount (part by mass) of the plasticizing agent based on 100 parts by mass of the rubber component is defined as E, the A, B, C, D, and E satisfy the following inequalities (1), (2), and (3).
