The method includes: obtaining a global positioning system GPS position covariance of a to-be-positioned vehicle (S101); when the GPS position covariance is less than or equal to a preset position covariance threshold, obtaining initial position information of the to-be-positioned vehicle and vehicle information of a surrounding vehicle (S102); determining a first position reckoning result of the surrounding vehicle based on the initial position information of the to-be-positioned vehicle and the vehicle information of the surrounding vehicle (S103); and determining a second position reckoning result of the to-be-positioned vehicle based on the first position reckoning result (S104). When a GPS fails or a vehicle-mounted sensor is faulty, global positioning information of the to-be-positioned vehicle may be calculated by using the vehicle information of the surrounding vehicle, thereby improving accuracy of a vehicle positioning result in a special scenario, and improving robustness of a vehicle positioning system.",
