Provided is a pneumatic tire that has sufficiently improved steering stability on a wet road surface during high speed running. The pneumatic tire is a pneumatic tire including a circumferential main groove on a tread portion, wherein an outermost layer of the tread portion is formed by using a rubber composition containing vulcanized rubber powder, an area ratio S (%) of the vulcanized rubber powder in a cross-section of the outermost layer is not less than 5% and not greater than 50%, a loss tangent (30°C tanδ) of the rubber composition measured under conditions of 30°C, a frequency of 10 Hz, an initial strain of 5%, and a dynamic strain rate of 1% with deformation mode: tension is not greater than 0.15, a groove depth D (mm) of the circumferential main groove is greater than 6 mm, and S/D > 0.85 is satisfied.
