The invention describes a jointed connection (1) for transmitting torque in a variable-gauge rail axle, which comprises: a first fork (2) comprising an inner side (21) and an outer side (22), wherein an end of the outer side (22) is rotatably connected about a transverse axis (E2a) to one of either a wheel (200) or a rail axle (100); a second fork (3) that has an inner side (31) and an outer side (32), wherein an end of the outer side (32) is rotatably connected about a transverse axis (E3a) to the other of either the wheel (200) or the rail axle (100); and a ball-and-socket joint that connects ends of the inner sides (21, 31) of the first and second forks (2, 3).
