A road vehicle (1) having: at least one drive wheel (2, 4); a first tank (9) configured to contain hydrogen; a second tank (21) which is separate from and independent of the first tank (9) and is configured to contain water; and an internal combustion engine (5), which is powered by hydrogen and is configured to transmit the motion to the drive wheel (2, 4). The internal combustion engine (5) has: at least one cylinder (11), a fuel injector (18) configured to inject hydrogen into the cylinder (11), and a water injector (20) configured to inject water into the cylinder (11).
