SAFETY DEVICE IN A VEHICLE

A safety device in a vehicle is provided. The safety device comprises an actuator (100) comprising a housing (1) having a first end (2) and a second end (3), a piston arrangement (5) comprising a piston (5a) and a piston rod (5b) having a supporting element (18) projecting outside the housing (1), the piston arrangement (5) being adapted to fit in the housing (1) and to be moved from a retracted position to an extended position, a gas generator (12) and a power connector (19) configured to power the gas generator (12). The piston (5) has a first end forming a pressure surface (10) facing the first end (2) of the housing (1). A gas chamber (15) is formed between the pressure surface (10) of the piston (5) and an inner envelope wall (16) of the housing (1), and the gas generator (12) being arranged inside the gas chamber (15). The power connector (19) is connected to the supporting element (18).
