Provided is an ultrathin low-voltage electric wire for an automobile that includes a conductor part and an insulating layer covering the outer periphery of the conductor part, wherein the insulating layer includes a resin composition containing 100 parts by mass of a vinyl chloride resin, 29 to 31 parts by mass of a trimellitic acid-based ester plasticizer, 0.3 to 1.0 parts by mass of a processing aid, and 7 to 11 parts by mass of a thermal stabilizer, the conductor part has a cross-sectional area of 0.13±0.02 mm, and the insulating layer has a thickness of 0.16 to 0.25 mm.
