[0003] [Resolution Means] [0004] The present invention is an airbag device housed in a vehicle seat, provided with an inflator that generates expanding gas and an airbag that protects the occupant by deploying from the side of the vehicle seat. The airbag includes a head protecting cushion that deploys at least at the side of the head of the occupant and a side cushion that deploys at the side of the shoulder and waist of the occupant. The inflator is equipped with a gas discharge part and is installed so that at least the gas discharge part is housed inside the side cushion. A diffuser is provided inside the airbag to cover the perimeter of the gas discharge part of the inflator. The diffuser has a first opening part that connects to the head protecting cushion and a second opening part that connects to the side cushion. Furthermore, regarding the first opening part and second opening part, the maximum projected area, when each are opened to their maximum, is set larger for the first opening part than the second opening part.",
