"textContent": "A computer implemented method for monitoring an inflation pressure of a tire (110) supporting a vehicle (10) is disclosed. The method comprises: providing data (150) in a memory element (140), wherein the data associates at least one centerline length (32) of a footprint (30) of a tire (110) with a corresponding predetermined tire inflation pressure; obtaining a centerline length signal (132) that is indicative of a centerline length (32) of the footprint (30) of the tire (110); and generating a tire inflation pressure adjustment signal (121) indicating a required adjustment of the tire inflation pressure, based on the centerline length signal (132) and on said data (150). Also, tire inflation pressure monitoring system (100) is disclosed comprising: a vehicle (10); a tire (110) supporting the vehicle (10); a first sensor unit (130) being mounted on the tire, the first sensor unit including a footprint centerline length measurement sensor; a memory element (140) for storing data (150) that associates at least one centerline length (32) of the footprint (30) of the tire (110) with a corresponding predetermined tire inflation pressure; and a processor (120) in electronic communication with the first sensor unit (130) and with the memory element (140).",
