The system (10) comprises: a processor (28) in electronic communication with an electronic control system (30) of the vehicle (14); a calibration module (40) configured for determining a wear rate of the tire (12) and for communicating the wear rate of the tire (12) to the processor (28); a severity assessment module (42) in electronic communication with the processor (28), the severity assessment module being configured for receiving real-time inputs and generating a real-time driving severity number; and a mileage estimation module (44) in electronic communication with the processor (28), the mileage estimation module being configured for determining a current wear state of the tire (12) and for generating an estimate of remaining mileage on the tire from the wear rate of the tire, the real-time driving severity number, and the current wear state of the tire.",
